Easy as that! Repeat for a whole year.

Five Ways to Support the DTL Without Getting Out of Your Chair

Short on time and money but want to support the DTL? Here are five super easy ways to help!

We don’t all have time to be a regular volunteer, and we aren’t all rich beyond our wildest dreams, so here are some easy quick ways to help out without getting out of your chair (if you are rich beyond your wildest dreams, skip this article and click here).

Way ONE: King Soopers

King Soopers has a program where they kick a non-profit of your choice (DTL!) a small percent of all of your purchases. If you get groceries/gas/beer there on the reg, consider putting our name on your account.

  1. Create an account at their website. It's quick - you can skip the little setup wizard that comes second if ya want.

  2. Go to this Community Rewards page of your Account Dashboard and search for Denver Tool Library.

  3. Click enroll. Easy peasy! Now a really mathematically obscure percentage of your spending will be donated to the DTL, but it really does add up. Hoorah!

WAY TWO: LEAVE A 5 STAR REVIEW ON GOOGLE

Not into shoppy choices of how to help? Leave us a nice Google review. It’s super helpful in convincing people who say “Tool Library? Seems like a cool concept, but I’m not sure…” that they should take a chance and try us out.

WAY THREE: TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW THAT WE’RE AWESOME.

Tell your friends about us! Show off what you built and tag us on social media, or Show Us Your Project and we’ll brag for you. When you’re with others IRL, be that annoying "crypto bro" but instead of crypto, talk about what a cool concept we are.

WAY FOUR: GIVE DTL BUCKS AS A GIFT

Already have a tool library membership, taken all of our classes, and spent over 1,000 hours in our community workshop? Get someone else to do the same! Purchase a gift membership, class bucks, or open workshop hours for someone. You’ll be supporting our org and giving your friends & family the gift of tools.

WAY FIVE: SEND us a couple buckS.

And who can’t forget the last easy way to help - donating a few bucks to our Share the Tools Fund! For those who have the means, even a little money can go a long way.

THANK YOU, YAY, GOOD JOB, WOOHOO!!

Beekeeping II: Hands-On Hives is Back for Spring!

Part 2 of our beekeeping class has been on hold for a while, but we just released a date for this spring! Sign up soon for Alex Beekeeping II: Hands-On Hives on Monday, April 6th at 5:30 PM because this might be the only one of 2026.

Take your apiary skills to the next level by going beyond the basics of hive management. In this course, we will dive deeper into the nuances of hive inspections, diagnosing colony health, and the rewarding process of honey extraction. Unlike conventional instruction, this class focuses on natural beekeeping tendencies to help you build a more sustainable practice. You will get hands-on opportunities to "read" comb up close and harvest honey, while exploring the rich folklore associated with the honeybee. Whether you need help troubleshooting your current hive or want to prepare for the upcoming season, this class offers expert guidance. Join this supportive workshop, expand your handy DIY skillset, and connect with a community of fellow makers!

About Your Teacher

Alex has been keeping bees for 5 years and is passionate about sharing this knowledge with others in order to help the local pollinator population. She is interested in keeping bees on a spiritual level and aims to be a steward of the earth through this ancient practice. You can see more of her work on her Instagram @alma_apiary

Share The Tools Community Quotes

Did y'all know a percentage of all your tool library, class, open workshop hours, and gift bucks purchases go toward helping folks and orgs afford tools?

As a non-profit, a chunk of our total revenue, gold memberships, and your donations hangout at a big pool party called the Share the Tools Fund which gets distributed via financial assistance, and these quotes are from recipients.

Want to throw some extra bucks into the pool party? We have a rolling fundraiser through the 2026 that you can donate to now.

Thanks for helping your community!

Practical Joinery is Back! Now with Brynn

Woodworking II: Practical Joinery is back from a few month break, and is now taught by instructor Brynn! Continue your foundational woodworking education and take home a desktop organizer that you make. First dates will be in March and are open for registration.

Take your woodworking projects to the next level by constructing a custom desktop organizer. This class teaches practical joinery techniques using power tools to create essential connections like dados, rabbets, and reinforced butt joints. You will learn how to choose the right joint for every application, including when to use pocket holes or dowels, and how to ensure your final assembly is strong and precise. Join this supportive friendly workshop, expand your handy DIY skillset, and connect with a community of fellow makers!

About the Teacher

Brynn started working with wood when she and her partner purchased an old house and renovated it themselves. Once the house was complete, she began making furniture to fill it, a practice she has continued ever since. She appreciates that woodworking combines necessity, beauty, and practicality. Over the years, Brynn has built a wide range of projects, from two-story decks to mid-century chairs. She enjoys helping others feel comfortable with tools and sees woodworking as both empowering and approachable.
