PART-TIME Welding Instructor
Job Title: Welding Instructor (Contractor)

Job Summary: We're seeking a skilled and passionate part-time welding instructor to teach our Welding I: Essentials, Safety, and MIG Class and potentially other classes / workshops down the road. This position offers good pay, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for growth. If you're enthusiastic about sharing your expertise, we'd love to hear from you!
Position Starts: After the deadline - interviews, onboarding, and class scheduling start ASAP.
Responsibilities:
Teach about 4-8 classes per month that are 3-4 hours each with 8 people (flexible scheduling)
Plan and prepare your own classes, including curriculum development and materials lists
Purchase and transport all necessary materials and equipment for each class (we provide the large equipment)
Provide clear instructions, demonstrations, and guidance to students
Encourage students to explore their creativity and build confidence
Prompt email communication with the class director, as well as infrequent questions from students
Requirements:
4+ years of welding experience
2+ years of teaching experience
Strong knowledge of welding techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Ability to lead without assistance during class
A reasonably flexible schedule so you can pick up classes when they work for students & the organization
Bonus if:
You have experience in other metal arts areas, and may be willing to develop related classes
You are willing to do personal marketing for your classes
Compensation
Teachers receive 50% of ticket sales for each class taught (average of $350 per class)
Teachers receive 50% reimbursement of materials purchased
