Open Positions:
Hiring: On-call Tool Librarian
The Denver Tool Library is hiring a Tool Librarian for flexible, on-call coverage during our summer season. Must have general availability during our open hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays (2-7pm) and Saturdays and Sundays (10am-3pm) on an as-needed basis. Some shifts will be scheduled well ahead of time to cover for vacationing tool librarians. Ideal candidates also have flexibility for same day coverage requests, and varying hours. We anticipate at least one shift a week during our busiest months.
A Tool Librarian is responsible for day-to-day duties including checking tools in and out, keeping the shop looking great, and helping members find the tools they need. Position is hired as a 1099 Independent Contractor.
Job Title: Tool Librarian
Hours: About one shift per week with room for more in the future
Compensation: $20-22/hr, free tool borrowing, free open workshop use, and discounted classes.
Responsibilities and Duties
Checking tools in and out
Cleaning, organizing, and tidying tools & the shop
Helping members find the tools they are looking for
Signing up new members
Inventorying new tools & donations
Answering phone calls & replying to emails
Qualifications and Requirements
Must be reliable, trustworthy, and a good communicator.
Have a basic knowledge of tools and their applications (don’t worry if you aren’t an expert)
Be organized, personable, kind, fun, and helpful!
