Class Refunds, Transfers, Know Before You Go & More
Here’s some important stuff to know before your class or workshop
Things to Know Before Class
Come a little early: Classes need to start on time and the door needs to be locked for a class to start. If you are late, you may be locked out, and there will not be an option to reschedule or receive a refund.
Wait to be let in: For security reasons, our door sometimes needs to be locked before class while teachers set up in the back of the shop. If you arrive early and the door is locked, please wait until the time your class starts.
Class Cancelations: All classes do have a minimum number of students required for the class to proceed that you can find in the class listing. Though it is rare, we may reach out to you a day or two before explaining that we need to cancel/reschedule the class. You will get a full refund.
Dress Appropriately: You may be working with some serious tools that can catch loose objects! Please review the "Clothing/Equipment Requirements" section of your class listing.
Minors Under 18: Please check the "Age Limit" policy in the listing of the class. If there is someone under 18 attending, they need to be accompanied by an adult during the class.
Water Bottles & Snacks: It's best to bring a water bottle and if the class is on the longer side - bring some snacks!
Parking/Entrance: The best place to park is on the eastside of Santa Fe Drive (across from the shop), or on 5th Ave between Santa Fe Drive and Kalamath Street. Enter through the front door on Santa Fe Drive at 555 Santa Fe Drive. View Parking Map.
Special Assistance: If you have special requirements and need assistance, or if there is anything that you would like your instructor to know about you before class, please reach out!
Basic English Required: Due to safety reasons, all students are required to communicate in basic English or have translation assistance.
Code of Conduct: Behavior that disrupts classes, makes others uncomfortable, or creates safety concerns—including harassment, intimidation, or reckless actions—will not be tolerated. Participants engaging in such behavior may be asked to leave and may lose the privilege of attending future classes or events.
Things to Know Before Open Workshop Sessions
Open Shop Sessions are like a mix between Open Shop Hours and Classes. By charging a flat discounted fee for the entire duration of a session, these Open Workshops are more relaxed, social, and beginner friendly because you will have plenty of time to plan, make, and ask questions along the way.
Bring all the materials you'll need for your project: Open Workshop Sessions are intended for you to work on your own project, so be sure to bring in all the materials you may need.
Your fee covers the entire session: Unlike hour regular Open Shop Hours where you pay hourly, the price you pay when you book your Open Shop Session covers the entire length of the workshop.
Don't worry, you can be late!: Come on-time or late, and stay for as much or as little of the workshop as you’d like. Keep in mind that the door will be locked when you arrive and that there will be a phone number to call or bell to press near the door.

Class Refund & Reschedule Policy
If you cannot make class for any reason please let us know as soon as possible. Spots canceled within 48 hours of class start are extremely difficult to fill. We understand that issues outside of our control come up including sickness and family emergencies, but last minute cancellations for any reason make a huge impact on our teacher’s and on our non-profit’s ability to serve the community. With that said, our policy is...
From purchase until 1 week before class: transfer or free refund is available.
1 week to 48 hours before class: transfer or 100% credit toward any class is available.
48 hours to class start: Sorry - no refund, credit, or transfer is available.
Please Note:
There is a limit of TWO transfers.
Your tickets are fully transferable to another person at any time. If you have a friend who'd be into it, you can pass your ticket on to them for free, even at the very last minute.

Things to Know Before Class
Please review our Things to Know Before Class and please send it out to your group once the class is confirmed. It has important information like clothing requirements, things to bring to class, parking, etc.
Private Class Payment Info
To reserve your date: Once we find a date that works for your group, we will send you an invoice for the full payment of the class that you can pay with a debit/credit card. Once you receive that invoice, we will need a full payment in order to reserve that date within 72 hours. Unfortunately we are not able to take deposits.
Private Class Refund & Reschedule Policy
If you cancel more than 48 hours before your class starts: You will have the option to reschedule or get a refund, minus a non-refundable $200 reservation fee. We charge this reservation fee to be fair to the instructors who often take off work to teach, and to be fair to the organization because other classes could have been scheduled.
If you cancel less than 48 hours before your class starts: You will not have the option to reschedule or get a refund.
