Woodworking I: Shop Safety Certification & Dimensioning Lumber Class

Learn how to safely use common industrial woodshop machines with our affordable woodshop safety class. Understand how to use woodshop tools such as the planer, jointer, bandsaw, SawStop table saw, miter saw, router table, and drill press, plus how to work smart in a community woodshop. Learn woodworking basics by dimensioning lumber with the jointer and planer. All skill levels are welcome to this workshop safety training.

After taking this class, we encourage you to continue your woodworking education with our Woodworking II: Practical Joinery Class.

About the Teacher

Note! This class is sometimes taught by your favorite woodturning instructor, Chris Hoehle.

Professional woodworker and all-around great guy Ian Saunders will be teaching this informative class. Ian is an independent woodworker crafting beautiful tables, desks, bars and art. He went to Red Rocks Community College for furniture making and developed his woodworking skills as an apprentice under a cabinet maker. Ian has been in education most of his life including teaching youth carpentry, natural building, and safety.
