Sewing III: Patching & Mending Class

In this class, you will learn to repair your clothes and other household items! Over time our favorite items succumb to wear and tear. Learn creative ways using hand sewing techniques and the sewing machine to repair, patch, and mend them for a stylish new life! All skill levels are welcome from beginner to advanced, sewing machine basics class is required or knowledge of threading a sewing machine.

Please Bring: One to three items per person. These items could include shirts and pants that have holes or rips, ripped pillowcases, camping items (sleeping bag), or jackets. 

  • Prerequisites: Sewing I or similar threading machine experience is required. Sewing II is not required.

  • Class Capacity: 7 maximum, 3 minimum

  • Materials Provided?: Some (See description)

  • Age Limit: 13+ (guardian required if under 18)

  • Partner Ticket Available?: No

About the Teacher

Jackie Drummond (they/she) grew up in Colorado in a mutli-cultural and multi-generational house. They learned to sew at a young age and received a degree in Technical Theater from Fort Lewis College. There she studied costuming, fashion design, and alterations. She is excited to share the foundations of fiber arts through sewing and support the community in their creations! Jackie encourages BIPOC, 2SLGTBQIA+, and Neurodiverse creators to join them in class, where they intentionally hold space for marginalized people to reclaim joy!
