Mosaic Pendants Class
With Jessie Rodriguez
In this choose your own adventure mosaics class, we will design and make a unique pendant that can be turned into a necklace, bracelet or a key chain. We will work with a variety of source materials to include; glass, beads, buttons and more! Students will select a pendant base and learn how to cut glass using wheeled-tile nippers and glass cutters, and use micro cutters to repurpose jewelry and objects for reuse.
We will discuss the best materials for use and where to source objects that can be used for small scale mosaics. Students will mix and use epoxy-sculpt clay available in several colors, and inlay materials to create their piece. Everyone will leave with a unique completed pendant. The end results make for wonderful personalized gifts, or keepsakes.
If desired, students can bring a small charm or object they wish to inlay.
*This class involves detailed work that requires some dexterity & patience to handle small objects as we work on a miniature scale. We will have available tools to make it easier, but wear your glasses if you need them!
